Every year the Cultural Association Illustrada holds an illustration competition culminating in an Illustration Street Festival in Mondovì, in the province of Cuneo. This year the story to illustrate was amazing, catapulting its characters into one incredible situation after another, with no pauses. The text was spare, leaving plenty of space to play with funny details and silly side stories. I had a blast and was particularly captivated by the little dog. At the end I was NOT selected, not even a little bit, but I had so much fun that I didn't mind too much. The book's been published now, it's called "Il libro GIGANTE" by Matteo De Benedettis and is illustrated by the spectacular Anna Mosca, and published by Gribaudo, if you want to check it out!

Queste schizzi fanno parte della mia partecipazione del concorso 2023 di Illustrada: “Il Mio Primo Libro Di Figure”. La storia era entusiasmante, con i bambini protagonisti che venivano catapultati da una situazione pazzesca a un altra, senza pause. Il testo era scarno, lasciando molto spazio a aggiunte simpatiche e a dettagli buffi. Mi sono fatta prendere la mano dal personaggio del piccolo cane. E' stato divertentissimo illustrare questo racconto, tanto che alla fine non mi importava tanto non essere fra i selezionati. Il libro è uscito recentemente, si chiama “Il libro GIGANTE” di Matteo de Benedittis, illustrato poi dalla spettacolare Anna Mosca, pubblicato da Gribaudo. E' bellissimo.
